Kelly Broad is a former journalist who now works as a freelance writer and filmmaker. She studied at Monash University in
Melbourne, Australia, and worked in rural newspapers before becoming a government speechwriter. In the UK she has worked extensively
in the public health arena, particularly on campaigns including the Government's tobacco information campaign, ‘Don't Give
Up Giving Up’, and NHS screening programmes for breast and cervical cancer. She has written for the National Patient Safety
Agency, the Teenage Pregnancy Unit, the Independent Advisory Committee for Sexual Health and the Government's social care
reforms, ‘Every Child Matters’.
