We aim to provide information about deprivation which is easy to use and visualise, to help the NHS target services and for use by partner agencies such as the social services and police.
What local organisations are involved?
South Wiltshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) runs the project with information analyses provided by Swindon PCT.

It is run by the acting joint Director of Public Health for South Wiltshire PCT.

Rural access to services is the biggest issue of disadvantage locally. New areas of deprivation have been identified. Partner agencies such as the social services and police are using the report. The NHS is using it to target services.

What obstacles did you have to overcome to set up this project?
There was no dedicated information analyst for public health. There had been no previous report on inequalities statistics locally.
What have you learned about the project so far?
The project has been very well received by different agencies.
What would you do differently?
I would have visited the various stakeholder groups and presented it to them.
